The Desktop Support and E-Government Branch covers a broad range of disciplines and are managed by Carla Halyard. Desktop Support is responsible for supporting enterprise desktop software and for the development of specialized applications that reside on the desktop and/or Web. Their activities are many and varied; including Records/Document Management.
E-Government consists of a number of highly experienced programmers and web developers who are responsible for maintaining both the County’s Internet and Intranet. Our primary goal is to extend governmental services directly to the public and our business partners any time, day or night, while continually improving the ability of county employees to perform their jobs efficiently.
Network Support
The Network Support Branch, managed by Laurie Childers, provides support for the various county telephone and voice systems and support for voice and data cabling.
Servers and Architecture and Help Desk
The Server and Architecture and Helpdesk Branch, managed by Maria Eckdish, manages software and hardware changes to the county mainframe and its Windows-based servers. This group also support changes to and the operation of the data network.
The Help Desk Branch provides a help desk, which responds to calls from
all county departments for problems related to desktop PCs, network issues, application software issues,
telephone services, and any other hardware problems that arise.
